Request for ethical review of use of animals in teaching

Small numbers of animals are used at the University of Edinburgh to provide material for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as researchers undertaking Home Office personal Licence Training.

In order to ensure that this use is justifiable, minimal and avoids purchase or breeding of animals where ever possible, course organisers are requested to complete the following form which will then be reviewed by Karen Brown, karen.brown@ed.ac.uk , Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Board co-ordinator.

Please note that where purchase of animals or unusual species are requested a more detailed ethical review process may be required. This will be advised by the AWERB following initial review.
