If RETAIN is selected please be aware of the following PIL CHARGES - The Home Office financial year runs from 6 April 2023 – 5 April 2024 and incurs an annual fee of £299 (subject to increase). BVS recovers the cost of PIL licences at the start of the licensing year (6th April 2023) for all those who hold a current licence. Any new applicants in the year starting on this date will be invoiced shortly (£299) after the award of their PIL. PIL holders will be charged annually by Journal. Please ensure you have named your Journal Administrator and Cost Centre. If you are not sure of your Cost Centre please discuss this with your Supervisor/Line Manager or email us at bvshov@ed.ac.uk. Roslin PILs are charged separately – Cost Centre - Roslin, Journal Administrator: Annabel Pearson. If REVOKE is selected - Your personal licence will be revoked on agreed date under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and the licensee is no longer authorised to carry out regulated procedures on protected animals at the establishment for which you are the licence holder. The yearly fee is payable in respect of this licence. Please be aware that access to the tick@lab database where applicable will also be revoked.
